TWILIGHT SAGA ECLIPSE Sets A Record

A box office hit as fans may call it as the Twilight Saga Eclipse grabs the record for a movie debuting on Wednesday with an opening gross of $68.5 million sales (including the the $30 million earning from the film's midnight and early morning screening) on its opening day. Surpassing "Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen" of $62 million sales set last year.

Indeed it was record breaking but "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" only ranked second in the all-time best opening day, a record held by "Twilight Saga: New Moon" of November last year with $72.7 million.

"Eclipse" opened in 4,416 theaters at Wednesday and a total of 4,468 theaters in the weekend.

Though "New Moon" was released on a Friday, typically busier day on movie houses than weekdays.
